More papers are distinguish dynamic from static (von Frey) mechanical stimuli. The common assay is using a paint brush or cotton swab.

In my hands, naive mice definitely respond to either of these with a brisk lift.
There is some variability in the application of the stimulus because the mesh that the mice stand on can sometimes get in the way of the brush/cotton.

What is everyone’s experience with this? And do you see strong changes after nerve injury the way these papers do?

A video demonstration of the proper technique AND the scoring would be a great resource too.

I will try to do this behavior. I will use a very soft brush to do this.
