I was talking with my supervisor and he said that some labs will keep slides warming at 37C (e.g. on a heat block) while cutting slices. He said the warm slide helps the tissue to adhere and also minimizes the bubble formation that sometimes happens when the tissue slice traps air under itself as it adheres to the slide. Has anyone done this? Does it work? I’m willing to try it but I’m concerned about the potential effect of 37C on the mRNA I want to probe for with RNAscope ISH.
