Transcriptional reprogramming of distinct peripheral sensory neuron subtypes

This is going to be a landmark paper. Answers longstanding questions about nerve injury with an intriguing finding. The neurons all take on an ‘injured’ phenotype. How do they remember their identities from before? There must be some internal factors in the cells that allow them to resume their identities during recovery. Many new questions opened up by this study.
