Cage-lid hanging behavior as a translationally relevant... : PAIN

This looks very promising as a potentially high-throughput, minimally biased measure of spontaneous behavior for the assessment of pain.

Bravo @Boninrp and @jmogil and team.

Any guidance for the rest of us on setting up these automated HangBox’s? I’m assuming these were custom-built and the Arduino interface/code as well.

Only @Boninrp can give you the technical details, although there are probably multiple ways to automate this (video, RFID proximity, capacitance). We do think it’s a pretty easy way to go that might prove to be pretty valuable.

Thanks so much @jmogil . This does indeed look promising and straightforward. We hope to try it out.

Hello Alex,

Thank you for your interest in our work! We did indeed custom build them but we can share the specs and general idea of how we conducted the measurements.

I’ve actually had a fair bit of interest in these setups since the article was published and we are considering just building a number of them for sale to fellow researchers. Would this potentially be something you are interesting in?

Best regards,

Hi @Boninrp. Thanks so much for joining the discussion. This method really does look like what many have been hoping for.

That’s very kind of you to consider that. I would definitely be interested. Look out for an email.
