This is a fascinating paper using in vivo DRG calcium imaging to interrogate the ensemble activity of DRG neurons in naive and pathological conditions. This is an exemplar of what emerging and powerful techniques such as two-photon calcium imaging can offer. The functional coupling of DRG neurons to each other via SGCs opens many new questions and offers a new avenue for therapeutics.
