The Samineni lab (https://saminenilab.wustl.edu) is seeking applicants for multiple postdoctoral fellows to join our group at Department of Anesthesiology, Washington University School of Medicine. We are newly established research group interested in understanding mechanisms underlying how visceral organ function is regulated in the brain and how it influences emotional wellbeing. We utilize scRNAseq, molecular and neuroanatomical tools to obtain comprehensive understanding of how the brain interprets, adapts, and responds to signals from the peripheral organs during normal and pathological states and how it shapes our emotions. We are also fostering new collaborations to developing novel optical and genetic tools for high-throughput sequencing brain nuclei.
Interested candidates with Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Cell Biology, Genetics or related field, with a track record of productivity. Training and hands-on experience in electrophysiology, in vivo imaging, scRNAseq, molecular biology or genetics is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate should have some bioinformatics skills and be passionate about neural circuit mapping and animal behavior.
Our lab is located in Pain Center, on the School of Medicine Campus of Washington University, we are surrounded by amazing collaborative and world- class neuroscience labs.
Qualified applicants should send a letter describing their current and future research interests, their CV, and names and contact details for three references to vksamineni@wustl.edu.
