Behavior assays to test cold sensation/pain?

I’m thinking about assays to test some models of immune-mediated neuropathy. Given that cold allodynia/hypersensitivity are features of neuropathic pain in some contexts, I think this is a something I should test.

What are people’s preferred assays in terms of accuracy, validity and also ease of performance?

I know there are a few options such as acetone test, cold plate, thermal preference, cold plantar.

Our preferred is cold plantar assay. We used to do cold plate, but I believe we switched because the cold plantar was a little more consistent and easier to interpret with younger mice.
